Entry into SGIP Program
To enroll in the program, the breeder must contact the program’s technical team to establish a customized work plan for the farm. This plan will be developed based on the farm’s infrastructure, available personnel, and genetic material (including breeding stock and sires). The plan will outline the program’s objectives, the traits to be monitored, and the routine for data collection throughout the mating, birth, maternal, weaning, and yearling phases. It will also define the genetic improvement strategies to be applied.
Once the service contract is signed, the program implementation begins. An accredited technician will visit the farm to present the program’s objectives, goals, data collection schedule, and work methodology to both the administrative and field staff. This ensures that everyone is aligned and working together towards the program’s success.
